The project investigated the perception of a phenomenon of landscape with artistic means. It centered on the Flims rockslide, an extreme geological event that occured almost 10,000 years ago and is now barely visible in the landscape. The exhibition catalogue for the exhibition Präparat Bergsturz–Konservierte Bewegung (Preparation Rockslide – Conserved Movement) in the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur further embeds the topic in an art historical context. The research report Präparat Bergsturz Band 2 (Preparation Rockslide Volume 2) reflects the hypotheses of the first volume and the exhibition and is dedicated in particular to artistic engagement with the scientific method of Taxidermy.
Both volumes deal with the processes and results of the project as a whole, as well as the variety of medial approaches and work forms of research approaches. Images are given great importance, in the sense of an artistic argumentation, and the predominantly text-based nature of scientific publications is questioned. The stickers of chewed gum, pasted by hand onto the otherwise empty cover, make the subject physically tangible and give each individual book its own appearance.

Editor: Tony Wuethrich Galerie
With essays by Simon Baur, Sabine Schaschl-Cooper, Sybille Omlin, Senam Okudzeto, Katharina Dunst, Markus Schwander and Reinhard Storz.
Texts german / english, hardcover, 17 × 24 cm, 144 pages, 180 fig.
Design: Andreas Kreienbühl, 9.6 Conceptional Wordls
Revolver, Frankfurt/Main, ISBN 978-3-86588-002-4
Can be ordered for CHF 40.- from ms@markusschwander.com
",
"align": "top",
"row": 10,
"col": 3,
"colspan": 6,
"offsetx": 0,
"offsety": 0,
"spaceabove": 0,
"spacebelow": 0,
"yvel": 1,
"push": 3,
"relid": 380,
"frameOverflow": ""
},
{
"type": "img",
"cont": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/04-Abdruck-Cover-1.jpg",
"align": "top",
"row": 10,
"col": 9,
"colspan": 2,
"offsetx": 0,
"offsety": 0,
"spaceabove": 0,
"spacebelow": 0,
"yvel": 1,
"push": 0,
"relid": 806,
"attid": 1208,
"sizes": {
"full": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/04-Abdruck-Cover-1.jpg",
"_1920": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/04-Abdruck-Cover-1-1920x2491.jpg",
"_1280": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/04-Abdruck-Cover-1-1280x1660.jpg",
"_1024": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/04-Abdruck-Cover-1-1024x1328.jpg",
"_768": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/04-Abdruck-Cover-1-768x996.jpg",
"_512": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/04-Abdruck-Cover-1-512x664.jpg",
"_265": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/04-Abdruck-Cover-1-265x344.jpg"
},
"w": 2234,
"h": 2898,
"ar": 1.2972247090421,
"alt": "",
"frameOverflow": ""
}
]
}
{
"colCount": 1,
"colGutter": 1,
"rowGutters": [
5,
5,
5,
8,
5,
5,
8,
5,
5,
8,
5,
5
],
"frameMargin": 5,
"topFrameMargin": 5,
"bottomFrameMargin": 7,
"rowAttrs": [
{},
{},
{},
{},
{},
{},
{},
{},
{},
{},
{},
{},
{}
],
"bgColor": null,
"cont": [
{
"type": "text",
"cont": "
Publications
",
"align": "bottom",
"row": 0,
"col": 0,
"colspan": 1,
"offsetx": 0,
"offsety": 0,
"spaceabove": 0,
"spacebelow": 0,
"yvel": 1,
"push": 0,
"relid": 381
},
{
"type": "img",
"cont": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/17-Shattered-Flow-Cover-2.jpg",
"align": "bottom",
"row": 2,
"col": 0,
"colspan": 1,
"offsetx": 0,
"offsety": 0,
"spaceabove": 0,
"spacebelow": 0,
"yvel": 1,
"push": 0,
"relid": 377,
"attid": 1210,
"sizes": {
"full": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/17-Shattered-Flow-Cover-2.jpg",
"_2560": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/17-Shattered-Flow-Cover-2-2560x3409.jpg",
"_1920": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/17-Shattered-Flow-Cover-2-1920x2556.jpg",
"_1280": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/17-Shattered-Flow-Cover-2-1280x1704.jpg",
"_1024": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/17-Shattered-Flow-Cover-2-1024x1363.jpg",
"_768": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/17-Shattered-Flow-Cover-2-768x1023.jpg",
"_512": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/17-Shattered-Flow-Cover-2-512x682.jpg",
"_265": "/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/17-Shattered-Flow-Cover-2-265x353.jpg"
},
"w": 2839,
"h": 3780,
"ar": 1.3314547375837,
"alt": "",
"frameOverflow": ""
},
{
"type": "text",
"cont": "
In “Shattered Flow” Markus Schwander concerns himself with questions about our ideas on landscapes and for this he has explored various landslides. In this sense the pictures should change the perception and stimulate to think deepened about our relationship with nature.

",
"align": "bottom",
"row": 12,
"col": 0,
"colspan": 1,
"offsetx": 0,
"offsety": 0,
"spaceabove": 0,
"spacebelow": 0,
"yvel": 1,
"push": 0,
"relid": 380,
"frameOverflow": ""
}
]
}
